Mr. Russo was appointed the KCB Group PLC Chief Executive Officer on May 25, 2022.
Prior to this appointment, he served as the Regional Business Director, KCB Group Plc and the Managing Director, National Bank of Kenya (NBK), a subsidiary of KCB Group. He has over 20 years of work experience spanning executive and key roles including group HR Director (KCB Group Plc), Receiver Manager (Chase Bank), Head of HR (Barclays Standard Services – Barclays Africa), Regional HR Head and HR Change lead (Barclays Africa), Head of HR (Barclays Tanzania), Head of Human Capital (PwC), Chief HR officer (K-Rep Bank), HR Manager (Unga Holdings) and Acting Compensation and Benefits Manager (Kenya Breweries).
Paul holds an MBA from Strathmore University Business School and a Bachelor of Business Management from Moi University. He also holds a senior executive program for Africa Certificate from Harvard Business School and a Higher Diploma in Human Resource Management from the Institute of Human Resources (Kenya).
Paul also serves as a director in the Boards of KCB Bank Uganda Limited, KCB Insurance Agency and KCB Capital Limited.
Ms. Githuka has a wealth of experience, spanning over 25 years in various commercial roles, covering portfolio management, strategy development, business development and trade marketing. Her experience has been gained regionally and internationally, within the FMCG sector, having previously worked at British American Tobacco and Unilever Kenya Limited. She currently serves as the Managing Director of Kenya Wine Agencies Limited (KWAL).
Ms. Githuka was identified as one of the 25 most powerful women in C-Suite impacting business by Business Monthly (East Africa) in 2021 & in 2022. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Nairobi. She has also undertaken multiple functional and leadership development programmes from across the world.
Lina also serves as an independent Board Director on the Population Services of Kenya (PSK) and National Bank of Kenya.
Laban joined the board of National Bank of Kenya Ltd as a non-executive director in July 2022 after his recent retirement from ABSA as the Director Compliance, Legal and Board Affairs in November 2021. Laban holds a Masters in Business Administration in Strategic Management from the University of Nairobi and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Nairobi.
Laban is a seasoned banker with deep experience for over 33 years in banking operations as well as leading risk and compliance for Barclays embedding both international as well as local risk and compliance standards. Laban provides good insights into operational risk standards and has established good networks with the regulator as well as within the banking industry.
Geoffrey Malombe was appointed as a Non-Executive Director in the Board of National Bank of Kenya with effect from August 17th 2023.
Malombe is currently the Ag. Director, National Assets and Liabilities Department at the National Treasury. He also serves as a Board Member of KCB Group representing the National Treasury and as a member of the Kenya School of Law Board. He is also a Council Member at the Institute of Certified Public Accountants Kenya (ICPAK).
He holds a Master of Arts in International Studies (2021-2022) and a Master of Business Administration (Finance Option) from the University of Nairobi.
George Odhiambo was appointed as the National Bank Managing Director in January 2023.
Mr Odhiambo, a seasoned banker, was previously the MD BPR Bank Rwanda Plc since its inception following the merger between KCB Bank Rwanda and Banque Populaire du Rwanda. He was the immediate former Managing Director, KCB Bank Rwanda Limited. He joined KCB in 2009 as Head, Business Analytics, KCB Bank Kenya.
He holds an MSc in Pure Mathematics and BSc in Mathematical Statistics from the University of Nairobi. He has also acquired several leadership certifications such as Practitioner Diploma in Executive Coaching and Postgraduate Diploma in Corporate Governance from the Academy of Executive Coaching, UK and the Centre for Corporate Governance & KCA University respectively.
Mr. Odhiambo is a member of the COMESA Business Council, Advisory Board and Chairs the Banking sub-Sector Committee and Patron African Institute of Mathematical Sciences (AIMS) Teachers Training Program Scholarship Fund - Rwanda.
Samuel has over 20 years legal and corporate governance experience in the banking industry having previously worked at Southern Credit Banking Corporation in Kenya. He has a wealth of experience in Management, Commercial, Legal and Governance and has gained extensive knowledge and experience in leading teams. Samuel holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) Degree from the University of Nairobi, a Diploma in law from the Kenya School of Law and is currently completing a Master of Laws (LLM) degree in International Financial Law from Strathmore University, Nairobi.
He also holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB. Hons.) and a Higher Diploma from the Institute for the Management of Information Systems (IMIS) through Strathmore University. He has attended various professional management and corporate governance capacity building courses. He is an active member of the Institute of Certified Secretaries (ICS) and the Law Society of Kenya (LSK). He currently serves as the company secretary for the 2 subsidiaries of the Bank.
